Imagine building software that could help save lives.
I’m working with a founding-stage company that designs a personalised mRNA cancer vaccine for each patient, built from their own blood and tumour samples. They’re helping people who’ve run out of standard options, and they’ve just received their first FDA clearance to dose a patient.
They’re hiring their first dedicated Founding Product Engineer:
🧬 Build the first patient- and clinician-facing product from scratch
🎨 Rebuild their scientific dashboard with a much stronger point of view
🚀 Own design, frontend and backend, with no spec, PM or designer in between
💰 $35M raised, ~20 people, $185–205K base + 0.05–0.25% founding equity
📍 On-site, London or San Francisco
🛠️ React, TypeScript, Python, Postgres
No biology background needed, just curiosity, care and real product taste.
Why candidates should join
Two greenfield surfaces: You’ll build the first patient and clinician dashboard. You’ll also build internal tools that the wet lab, clinical, manufacturing and engineering teams all use.
Taste wins here: LLMs make the code easier. The team cares most about your judgment on what to build and how it should feel.
No bio background needed: Curious people pick up the science fast. Neighboring experience is a bonus, not a must.
Comp and flexibility: $185K–$205K base plus 0.05%–0.25% equity. The team will stretch for standout people. You can work in person in SF or London.
Fast-moving outsider team: The company started in late 2024. It’s US-focused, already working in Australia and aiming for Europe next.
